The power of chakra pairs

A workshop for yoga teachers and the curious

Delve more deeply into the chakras in this yoga workshop led by Patricia Cronin.  Whilst you may be familiar with the idea of energy moving through the chakras and how this can affect physical, mental and emotional health, the concept of pairing chakras may be new to you.  Chakra pairs can be used to diagnose the causes of  imbalances and enable healing to begin.

Moving beyond rainbow-coloured pictures, this practical workshop will include:

  • An overview of yogic models of consciousness: Chakras, Koshas and Gunas and how they combine to give a fully dimensional view of health

  • Developmental stages of the chakras from childhood to adulthood, why common imbalances arise, and their consequence

  • How key chakra pairs work together and how we can harness that knowledge to create holistic healing practices

  • Creative ways to use these pairs when teaching group classes in asana, pranayama, visualisation, mudra and Chakra Shuddhi

Although suitable for yoga teachers for their CPD, the workshop is open to everyone. It will be of particular interest to anyone who wants to know more about alternative theories of wellness, therapists of all kinds, and those interested in Eastern philosophy. Since the chakras develop in children in stages, anyone with an interest in developmental psychology is likely to find some interesting parallels. Attendees will also be invited to a Q&A session led by Patricia (by Zoom) to share their experiences, a few weeks later.

Pat Cronin is a yoga therapist with The Yoga Root and a yoga therapist tutor for Real Yoga. She has a host of qualifications in yoga, meditation, and teaching.  She has worked in the NHS, private mental health clinics and schools, and has practised yoga for 45 years. Her special interests include eating disorders, chronic fatigue, anxiety and depression and end of life care.

St Peter’s Place is the church hall for Fishbourne parish church, St Peter and St Mary. It’s a little haven of peace and tranquility yet is close to transport links. There’s lots of lovely walks nearby. Google maps picture

By road from the A27 eastbound or westbound take the Fishbourne exit (A259) from the Tesco roundabout and look out for the sign for the parish church just past the first road on your left, Apuldram Lane. The drive leads to a car park by the hall.

By rail travel to Fishbourne or Chichester stations as you could walk from either. Fishbourne is 0.8 miles from the venue and Chichester is 1.3 miles, but from Chichester you could then catch a number 700 bus towards Portsmouth from the adjacent bus station.

Bus stop located at the top of the drive.

catering

Hot and cold drinks and snacks will be provided. The nearest shop isn’t very convenient, though possible (Tesco superstore - walk via underpass). So please bring your own lunch.
